Do you know we are in our 8th year now? Unbelievable!

When we started – after Easter in 2009 – we thought we had identified a need in the area and we were not wrong! Almost from the offset our numbers have been healthy – if there have been quiet times, we’ve learned not to worry, because numbers will soon pick up again.

We get some great feedback! Friendly staff (of course) fresh and healthy snacks for the children, freshly brewed coffee and biscuits for parents and carers – all prepared by ladies in the church – no leaving your children while you take your turn in the kitchen as in my day!

We think carefully about our routine – which we know is important to the children. Free play first – with a range of toys and equipment, which we try to alternate, keep clean and renew regularly – and an on-going a craft during the first hour, to take home.

Then it’s snack time – the children look so cute seated around our lovely bright tables – it’s like party time every week! We serve our ‘’baby mums’’ so they don’t need to break off from nursing. But if they do want a break from baby – there are lots of arms available to cuddle baby. Then it’s time to trundle round a larger room on our range of trucks and bikes – that’s the children, not you!

Finally we usually have a story, and have our own talented musician Kate, to lead singing on her Ukulele! Birthdays, notices, a prayer, and time to go home.

Little FishesWe’re ably led by a team of voluntary helpers.  We like to think we can be a friend to our families too, occasionally someone to listen, a shoulder to cry on – or just a pair of hands to help out with the little ones during the short time they are with us - and to bring something of Jesus’ message about love.

If you think you’d like to help you’d be so welcome – our initial team has dwindled considerably! All you need is to be fairly healthy and have a love of people, especially children. You might be a student or retired, male, female it doesn’t matter - please let us know if you’re interested and you can come along to a session and see if it’s your thing.
