Eco Church

Eco Church

Eco Church is a learning community of churches of all shapes and sizes open to all denominations. It provides a framework to support churches to take practical action on caring for God’s earth, through the Eco Church survey.  The scheme is run by the charity A Rocha in partnership with others including Christian Aid, The Church of England, The Methodist Church and The United Reformed Church. The survey covers five key areas of church life:

Worship and Teaching – embedding creation care in worship, prayer and learning

Building and Energy – finding energy efficient and innovative ways to manage our places of worship

Land and Nature – nurturing spaces for people and places

Community and Global Engagement – transforming local and global communities and eco-systems

Lifestyle – living joyfully and sustainably as followers of Christ

Our church attained Bronze in 2017 and we are currently working towards Silver.
