The results of two reports on the state of caring from Carers UK
Over 11,000 carers gave their views about the state of caring to Carers UK, who are sharing the results in a series of reports. The second of these is on HEALTH and is now available. You can use the link below the image for a summary of the findings and access a copy of the report. The link also give access to the first report that looks at the impact of caring on FINANCES.

Take a look at our calendar of events for the month of December
We organise and/or help organise a range of activities and support groups around Sheffield. These events take place on various dates during the month, so we thought it would be useful to have a calendar on our website. New support group for carers of people living with dementia
Would you like to join a new group for carers of people living with Dementia? There is a new group holding its first session on Thursday 30th November. It starts at 1pm at Sheffield Flourish (just off The Wicker) and offers a safe space to come together with others who understand for a chat and a cuppa. Use the link for information on who to contact for details about the event.

Volunteer with us and help make a real difference to unpaid carers
We wouldn’t be able to help Sheffield’s unpaid carers in the way we do, without the fantastic support from volunteers. In addition to helping people in need, you can meet new friends and connect with your local communities. Use the link for details of four roles we’re currently looking for help with – or use the form on that webpage if you’d like to volunteer in any other ways.

Dancing for health classes online and at Hillsborough Arena

Free training session to help carers of people with Down's Syndrome
This is a 90-minute session aiming to provide an overview of what's known as relevant to consider when assessing, treating or supporting someone who has Down’s Syndrome. The event will help to signpost carers to some resources and support available from the Down’s Syndrome Association, including their website, publications, helpline and access to specialist advisors.

Free training session to help carers of people with a learning disability
This is open to support staff, carers, and family members who provide support to a person with a learning disability. The 90-minute session aims to increase knowledge and understanding of the Annual Health Check and its importance. It will also help carers learn how they can support the healthcare professional when they are carrying out the Annual Health Check appointment.

Would you like a mini allotment plot in the Manor Lane area of the city?
The Green Estate Community Interest Company is a heritage and environmental regeneration project in the Manor area of Sheffield. They have some ‘mini allotments plots’ available at 389 Manor Lane. These small plots are great for people that are learning and/or don’t have much time to look after a large plot. Use the link below the image for more details and who to contact.
