Our thanks to everyone that helped make the week a great success
Our programme of free events and activities was designed to help unpaid carers directly plus the health and social care professionals that refer or signpost carers to our services. Many thanks to all the carers, staff and our partners that joined in to make the week a great success. The Carers Week report on unpaid carer identification now available
Carers Week charities commissioned YouGov to poll the general public, including some unpaid carers. The polling with over 4,000 people found 1 in 5 (20%) are currently giving unpaid support or care to someone. 1 in 2 (50%) have provided care during their lives and 73% providing care (now or in the past) don't identify themselves as carers. Use the link to read the full report.

Join our Carer Involvement Network and help us to shape our work
We’ve launched our Carer Involvement Network for current and former unpaid carers to provide opportunities for individuals and organisations to come together and collaborate around issues they care about. This collective effort can then be used to create positive development and change in the different communities we're involved with. Use the link for details and to join the network.

Inviting carers to help us by taking part in these 2-minutes surveys
We'd be grateful to current or past carers or any employer who can spare a couple of minutes to give us your thoughts on 5 topics. All the surveys are anonymous and the feedback will help us continue developing services for carers. Take part in as many of the surveys as you like (bottom of the webpage) and please note the deadline for all is 23:59 Tuesday 27 June.

Read about cross government action to champion carers
The Minister for Care, Helen Whately, held a reception at No 10 Downing Street for unpaid carers on 6th June to mark Carers Week and champion the vital work they do. More than 30 adult and young carers plus representatives of unpaid carers organisations attended. Read how they discussed ways the government and public could boost support for carers in the community.

The next carers' stroke support group meeting is on 12 July

Healthwatch Sheffield want to hear experiences of end-of-life care
This project has been commissioned by NHS South Yorkshire, to help them plan and improve palliative and end-of-life care services in our area. They want to make sure peoples' views and experiences are included in this work, so are asking what is working well and what would make experiences better for people. Use the link for details of the survey and support for carers.

Free E-cycle tryouts and one-month loans to communities
Cycle UK believe it's time for communities in Sheffield to discover how e-cycles can make everyday journeys easier. Hopping on an E-cycle regularly avoids having to pay for expensive fuel and car repairs – and also bring mental and physical health benefits and contribute to a cleaner environment. Visit their webpage for more details about the scheme.
