Book FREE carer activities directly from our website 
It is now possible to make a booking request directly from our website for all upcoming activities listed on our calendar of events. You can select as many events as you wish and we will be in touch via email to confirm your place. Accessibility and language support on our website
Our website has now been equipped with Recite Me language and accessibility tools to make it more accessible and inclusive (you will need to accept cookies to use this). This includes the ability to translate text into over 100 languages and into 65 text to speech voices. Look out for the toolbar at the top of our website and view more details for our guide on using these tools.
 
Free drop-in Memory Café at the Weston Park Museum (S10 2TP)
These are free and friendly drop-in sessions for people living with dementia or memory issues and their carers. Anybody else wishing to reminisce is welcome. Each session provides either music, pictures, objects or films to inspire your recollections of  life. Come along and meet new friends, share memories and enjoy a chat over free refreshments.
 
Sheffield Young Carers display at Weston Park Museum
This display is a collaboration between Pete McKee and Sheffield Young Carers to celebrate 25 years of supporting young carers in our city. The pictures are a powerful portrayal of what it means to be a young carer in Sheffield. They show the positive experiences as well as the difficulties they face. This display is free entry - please view more details for times and dates.
 
Enjoy good company and a FREE, warm, and tasty meal
Everyone is welcome to enjoy a free and tasty meal on Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm at FoodCycle Sheffield, Parson Cross (S5 8NJ). FoodCycle Sheffield Parson Cross welcomes anyone to attend as a guest and enjoy a FREE hot meal. No need to book. Just turn up on the day! This is located at Mount Tabor Church on Wordsworth Avenue. 
 
Call for a new National Carers Strategy seeks unpaid carers views
The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Carers has launched a new survey regarding its long-standing call for the UK Government to develop a new National Carers Strategy. The APPG is seeking the input of current and former unpaid carers, to better understand what the objectives of any future National Carers Strategy should be. View more details to take your survey.

Dementia-friendly screenings at Showroom Cinema (S1 2BX)
Showroom Cinema is now offering a monthly dementia-friendly movie screening on the last Tuesday of each month. Tickets are £5 and they offer free carer tickets as part of the CEA card scheme. Showroom Cinema is proud to be a recognised dementia-friendly organisation in association with The Alzheimer’s Society. View upcoming dementia-friendly film listings here.
 
A FREE sports and games social afternoon at Ponds Forge Sheffield
We’re working in partnership with Sheffield City Trust to offer carers a social afternoon of free sports and games at Ponds Forge (S1 2BP) on the last Wednesday of the month. This is a great chance to meet other carers and have a break. Carers are welcome to bring someone, but please wear suitable clothing and footwear. Some of our team will be on hand to help.
 
The Herbert Protocol can help if you care for someone with dementia
This is a national scheme adopted by South Yorkshire Police and other agencies which encourages carers and family members to compile useful key information which can save vital time in the event of a person with dementia going missing. Carers can complete an online form, then keep a copy at home to give to the police in the event of an emergency.
