Our popular Carer Cafe is moving to a new venue in September
Our Cafe group meet in-person on the second Friday of each month. We're moving the venue in September  to the Town Hall in the City Centre (S1 2HH). All carers are welcome whatever their caring role and there is no need to book a place. We also hold a free on-line cafe on the other Fridays, and any donation to refreshments costs is welcome for the in-person event.
 
Do you know someone that would like to join our Carer Advisor team?
We're expanding our team of Carer Advisors and have a vacancy for someone to become an integral member of our Assessment and Advice Service. The role involves delivering high quality advice, information, and support to unpaid carers over the telephone and face to face. As the cost of living continues to put pressure on household budgets, this online guide has some useful and practical tips to help people eat well and make those family budgets go further. FREE event about 'Keeping Healthy' at the EIS for carers and supporters
Move More Sheffield has arranged this event about ‘Keeping Healthy’ for people with learning disabilities and autistic people living in Sheffield. The event is being held on 14 September and those attending can try activities like Cycling, Football, Rave Dance, Tennis and attend Healthy Living Workshops. FREE session to help carers be aware about flu this coming winter
The NHS has arranged online sessions for healthcare professionals and family carers. Each lasts around 45 minutes with a question and answer session at the end and covers topics such as (1) What is flu (2) What’s new for this winter and (3) How working together can increase the uptake of options. Carers are invited to give feedback for the Sheffield Dementia Survey
Carers are invited to take part in a survey to help Sheffield’s NHS, Sheffield City Council, and the voluntary and community sector review and update plans to help people in Sheffield to live well with their dementia. New report by Carers UK looks at the experiences of former carers 
Carers UK has published a new report detailing the experiences of former carers – those who have previously had an unpaid caring role for an older, disabled or seriously ill relative or friend. The research included a survey of almost 1,000 people who used to have a caring role, as well as in depth interviews with nine former carers. Use the link for a summary and copy of the report.
 
Workshop by Shelter on 30 August about 'Access to Social Housing'
Shelter want to understand how social housing allocation has impacted the lives of racially minoritised groups. They are looking for people from these communities to take part in an online workshop to give feedback on Shelter’s research plans. There is no obligation to disclose personal experiences - and you can use the link for details of the workshop being held on Wed 30 August.
 
Art in the Gardens: a great day out showcasing home & garden ideas  
Held in Sheffield's stunning Botanical Gardens each September, Art in the Gardens is one of the largest outdoor art markets in the North of England, with artists, craft makers and visitors coming from across the UK. Chance to browse the many stalls and exhibitions, meet the makers, explore the gardens and enjoy some delicious locally-sourced food and drink.
