All unpaid carers are invited to celebrate our 30th Birthday with us 
Celebrate our 30th Birthday by joining us for our special Carers Café at Room G46 of Sheffield Town Hall (S1 2HH). This drop-in event will run from 10am to 12pm on 13 September. There will be free refreshments (tea & coffee & cake) throughout this event and a performance from the Carers Choir. What additional activities would you like us to provide to unpaid carers
We offer a range of weekly/monthly activities that provide an opportunity for carers to meet other unpaid carers and take a break from caring. Please can you complete this quick survey, which helps us understand what you enjoy, need, and find challenging as a carer. Your feedback will help us create activities that truly support you, making them more fun, accessible, and helpful.

Thank you for your overwhelming response to our men's group survey, we want you to know that we are listening and committed to making this happen. Your input is important in helping us shape this initiative. This new group aims to provide a supportive environment to connect and share experiences. Free treatments for adults experiencing stress or depression
 Sheffield Talking Therapies offers a range of free treatments for adults (over 18) who are experiencing problems with stress or low mood/depression. They offer appointments on the telephone, video, or face to face. Please click on more details to find out how to book an assessment. You can also discuss this service with one of our Carer Advisors.
 
Chapelgreen Dementia Community Event for free support
We will be supporting and attending this event on Wednesday 11 September. If you support someone with Dementia, or struggle with your own memory then this will be a great opportunity for free information & support. You can join from 2pm-5pm at The Campus, Pack Horse Lane, S35 5HY. There will be relaxation therapies, listening support, and various activities.
 
Free home library delivery service for Sheffield residents
If you are unable to visit a library and don’t have anyone able to go for you, you can contact Sheffield City Council’s free home library service. They will deliver books, talking books, DVDs and jigsaw puzzles directly to your home. These books will be carefully chosen with your interests in mind. Carers UK open letter is delivered to the new Prime Minister
Carers UK have recently handed in a letter signed by over 10,000 unpaid carers to 10 Downing Street, calling for an increase in Carer's Allowance and the introduction of paid Carer's Leave. The letter is calling on Sir Keir Starmer to make support for those providing unpaid care one of his Government’s top priorities. You can read this open letter to the Prime Minister here.
 
Parson Cross Parkinson's Café starting on 5 September
Parson Cross Forum will be holding a monthly Parkinson's Cafe for the Parson Cross Community and anyone in the surrounding areas who has been diagnosed with Parkinson's. This group is also for family members and carers. Each session will be supported by a member of staff from Parkinson's UK to ensure everyone receives the information & support they need.
 
Music Makes Memories Friendship Lunches in Sheffield
This is a monthly social event with live entertainment held at restaurants/pubs. Tickets include a delicious 2 course lunch. This event is aimed at the elderly, lonely and/or socially isolated. The event is 'dementia friendly' and therefore ideal for those living with dementia and their families/carers, offering invaluable respite. Click 'more details' to find out how to book.
 
Online information sessions for carers who have an autistic sibling
From 24th September 2024 until the 25th November 2024, Sibs are hosting a number of online information sessions for adult sibling carers who have an autistic brother or sister, called the Confident Caring Programme.
