The Wise Group offer 10 tips for cutting down home energy costs
We've been contacted by The Wise Group asking us to share some top tips that could help save money on your energy bills by implementing just a few small changes. These small changes can make a big impact in lowering your energy usage. Expert HEAT advisors are also available to help you save money by answering any home energy questions you may have.
 
Contact information for the festive period and a message from our CEO
Our office will be closed from 23 December then re-open on Tuesday 2 January 2024. If you have an urgent situation you can phone the Council's Adult Social Care First Contact Line on 0114 273 4908, and in the case of an emergency, please contact the appropriate emergency service. New support group for unpaid carers starting the 11th of January  
Join Darnall Well Being and Sheffield Carers Centre at our friendly group and explore what it means to be a carer, what support is available to you, and learn some ways of self-care. This will be in a safe space with other local people who are carers. Events are free of charge and have refreshments available. Find out more details to make your booking and view availably dates. 
 
Energy saving ideas helping to cut costs for Sheffield residents
Warm Homes Sheffield is a partnership between Sheffield City Council and energy experts AgilityEco. It provides access to a number of programmes that can help Sheffield residents reduce energy use whilst staying warm and well. Select more details to find out what assistance you may be able to receive on your bills, such as boiler upgrades and insulation. 
 
Grants available for cultural and community organisations
Are you involved with a cultural or community organisation, operating from a building that welcomes members of the public? You could get support and funding to reduce your energy bills. Select more details to find out how you can receive one-to-one support to understand your energy usage, a free energy survey, and the chance to apply for an energy efficiency grant.
 
The Big Bike Revival: Free winter cycle rides and bike repair
Cycling UK have partnered with several small businesses across Sheffield to support people to take up cycling or to get back to cycling over winter. The Big Bike Revival is all about helping people begin or return to cycling through a programme of FREE activities and services. Get your bike fixed for free, or join a ride led by an expert, using your own bike or a free hire bike. 
 
Oral health awareness training open to anyone in a caring role
Training is open to anyone in a caring role, paid or unpaid who are supporting people with a learning disability, mental health needs, or autistic people. This 90-minute session aims to increase knowledge and understanding of oral health care. Teaching you to recognise the differences between a healthy and unhealthy mouth and teaching appropriate care techniques.
