Letters from Tim

Dear Friends,

I would like to float an idea with you.

It has been suggested that over the next few months I have a few gatherings in which I can share some experiences of ministry over the last four decades.   This would not be full of reminiscences, but rather the chance to reflect together on some of the changes and challenges with which we now live and which impact on our future patterns of discipleship and being church.

I have found some of the most meaningful experiences have been when ministering ‘on the edge’.  On the edge of the life of the church, of society, of culture.  One could describe the church as we know it today, being increasingly on the edge and perhaps marginalised.

I envisage about four sessions which would each have a starting point of some aspect of on the edge ministry, such as:

On the edge of the city – inner city on the outer edge

In the hospital chaplaincy team

In the heart of the Bluewater shopping experience

Responding to 90,000 new homes being built on your doorstep

There would be the chance to explore together

So if this appeals to you, please let me know.  I would not want to set something up which does not interest anyone!

I look forward to hearing from you (Tim47crome@msn.com  01144389012)

Peace

Tim
