Dear Friends,
I want to let you know what the Church Council decided about our worship life last Tuesday evening.
We had a good discussion of the different possibilities open to us: whether to open each week for face to face worship, or the zoom experience. Many people had expressed their views through others who then shared them in the meeting. A number of people expressed how their views had changed, even within the meeting!
We took a vote and it was decided that we will maintain the current pattern of alternating between face to face worship and the zoom services. This will continue until it is reviewed at the next Church Council on 23rd June.
This will be after the next proposed date for the easing of restrictions. Thus we can be informed of the impact of the variants, what the authorities are recommending and then can make our decisions. It was felt that this approach includes the majority of people’s preferences at this time.
On a different note, some of you, but not all, will know that we now have in place at Abbey Lane Cemetery a headstone for Leonora.
Weather permitting, a short dedication will be held around Leonora's grave on Monday 7 June at 2pm, led by myself. If the weather is not permitting, we will not be there, but will fix another date, so watch this space and make your own judgement on the weather!! We thought that this would be a fitting tribute to Leonora, so please join us if you are able, and if you wish, bring a bourbon biscuit (L's favourite) to eat together.
Peace
Tim
