Letters from Tim

Dear Friends,

There are a couple of things to share this week.

The first is that you will soon be asked to fill in a form giving your consent for the church to keep and use your personal details. This is nothing different from before, but under the Data protection legislation, we need to have your consent to do so. It also means that we should really not keep people’s names and addresses in old copies of directories and membership lists.

You will receive a letter and a form to complete, and we will distribute these from 20th March. The letter will explain all that is required.

The service on 20th March will be a service of reflection and thanksgiving. There will be the chance to reflect on some of the losses and struggles of the last few years. Also to offer thanks for aspects of our life together, within our church and how we look outwards too.

There will be some prayer stations to which we can add our thoughts and prayers. All will be clearly explained on the day. The service will include communion and will finish with cake!

This has been inspired by a national day of reflection in the light of the pandemic.

Finally, after the initial rush of generous giving for the people of Ukraine, I imagine that there will be the need for long term giving. The effects of the conflict will be felt for years. So our prayers might like to focus on this country’s response to Ukrainian refugees and also effective avenues to support those who are suffering so much.

Peace

Tim
